Galveston County authorities arrest second suspect in auto theft spree

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a series of auto thefts across Galveston and Brazoria Counties, according to the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. The arrest follows an ongoing investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The 18-year-old suspect was apprehended after additional evidence linked them to multiple thefts, stated the press release. Both suspects have been charged with various offenses, including theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and burglary of a building. The charges include theft valued between $2,500 and $30,000 with a $15,000 bond, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle with bonds ranging from $20,000 to $50,000, and burglary of a building with bonds up to $75,000.

The swift coordination between the Galveston County Sheriff's Office and its law enforcement partners has been instrumental in bringing these suspects to justice, the release noted.
