Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force arrests three for dealership fraud, selling vehicles with liens

BACLIFF, Texas — Three individuals have been arrested for engaging in organized criminal activity following a three-month investigation into a used car dealership, according to the Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force. The arrests were made with assistance from the League City Police Department and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.

Eduardo Delgadillo, a 37-year-old, Noraly Oropeza, a 35-year-old, and Daniel Delgadillo, a 19-year-old, all of Bacliff, Texas, were taken into custody for allegedly defrauding at least 15 people by selling vehicles without disclosing existing liens, stated the task force. Each has been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and is being held on a $100,000 bond. The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles estimates the fraud at approximately $130,000.

The Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force is a multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional entity funded by the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority. It includes participants from the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, Galveston Police Department, La Marque Police Department, and the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office. The task force conducts criminal investigations, crime prevention programs, and provides analytical support to law enforcement agencies in the area.
