Oxnard Man Sentenced for Felony Auto Insurance Fraud
VENTURA, Calif. – The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced today that Anthony Madrid (DOB 07/06/97), of Oxnard, was sentenced on December 20, 2024, to 85 days in Ventura County Jail and two years formal probation. He previously pled guilty to one felony count of automobile insurance fraud.
On April 4, 2021, Madrid was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The car he was driving had major front-end damage, which Madrid claimed was there when he bought the vehicle. Five days later, on April 9, 2021, automobile insurance was purchased for the vehicle by a family member from Progressive Insurance Company, with Madrid as an excluded driver.
